University Academic Preparation
Gain advanced English academic skills and enhance your potential for success in a university program. If you’ve been conditionally admitted into an undergraduate degree completion program (years three and four of an undergraduate degree) or a graduate-level program but do not meet the English language requirements for admission, you can take this program to improve your English proficiency.
- Delivered on campus in a full-time, 12-week format
- 20 hours per week of classroom instruction
- Offered 3 times per year (September, January, April)
- Offered at the advanced level of English

Registration Details
This is a demanding full-time program for students with advanced English skills. Students should expect to commit 10-15 hours per week outside of class to focus on assignments.
Placement in this program is determined by the English language proficiency score report that you submit when you apply to your RRU degree program of choice.

These courses are shared with Advanced Academic Preparation, with the aim of bringing a more diverse range of perspectives into the classroom.
How to Apply
If you have chosen to meet the English language requirement for a degree program at Royal Roads University by completing EAP or UAP, you will be enrolled in the International Pathway Program by the Admissions office once you have been conditionally admitted to your academic program. If you have questions regarding the admission process for a degree program at Royal Roads, please contact International Admissions. If you have not yet applied for a credit program through RRU but would like to improve your English skills, consider one of our Global English options.
